Transcripts

All official transcripts must be requested in writing. You may send us a letter or fill out a request form in the Admissions and Records Office, you may also fax your request to (619) 644-7933. The student MUST sign all requests. DO NOT SEND YOUR REQUEST THROUGH E-MAIL. A transcript request letter must contain the following information:

  1. Name
  2. I.D. No (Social Security Number )
  3. Date of Birth
  4. Number of transcripts requested.
  5. Where you wish the transcript to be mailed.
  6. Your signature is required.
  7. Fees as required. ( if you paid the cashier by credit card, include confirmation number)
  8. If you are requesting multiple copies of your transcript, and wish them sent in separate envelopes, please specify "separate envelopes" in your request.

Each student who has an academic record on file at Grossmont College and who is not in arrears to the college with regard to fees, tuition, loans or other charges, may request transcripts.

What does it cost?

The first two official transcripts EVER are free. Additional transcripts are $3.00 each. "Rush" official transcripts are $5.00 each. If requested by mail, rush transcripts will be sent out the next business day. You must indicate RUSH in your request letter.

If you are paying by Credit card, call the cashier (619) 644-7660 with your card information, you will be issued a confirmation number that you need to include in your request to the Admissions and Records office.

How long does it take?

"Regular" official transcript requests are processed within 3 to 5 business days after the request is received. When requested in person, "rush" official transcripts will be ready within approximately one-half hour. If "rush" requests are submitted and processed before the daily mail pickup by the post office, the transcript will be mailed that day. Otherwise, it will be mailed the following business day. Rush transcripts requested on Saturdays will be completed on the following business day.
