participation are an essential component in
your learning and you
have to be present to benefit from them,
thus attendance is very
important.
Students may be dropped from class due to lack of
attendance when in the judgment of the
instructor they cannot
benefit from further instruction.
Assignments: Your daily
syllabus will indicate your assignments for each class.
They will include oral and written

sections of your workbook. You are
responsible for correcting them using the
Answer Key in the

cassettes for the exercises
of the second section are available in the
INSTRUCTIONAL MULTIMEDIA in the Learning Resource Center. As we do each lesson in the textbook, you are
to do the
corresponding lessons in the Workbook and
Lab Manual sections.

be five compositions based on the “Mi diario” section at the end of each Workbook
chapter. Compositions are to be written
on a separate sheet of
paper to be handed in with the workbook the days of the chapter tests.
Compositions
must be typed, double-spaced. Minimum
length: half page; maximum length:
one page. Compositions not in on
the due date will have 5 points
deducted for each class late. .
Additional There is a CD-ROM for Puntos de
partida with interactive computer exercises and
Practice: it is available in the
STUDENT EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY LAB of
the Learning Resource Center. There are
other interactive computer programs there.
Tutors are available in the TUTORIAL CENTER.
Language: Spanish is
the language that will be used during the course. The instructor
will
use Spanish when lecturing, asking questions and when responding to
your
questions. You are expected to try to do
the same.

an exam at the end of each chapter. We
will have two

each chapter. There will be a
comprehensive Final Exam. There

be two evaluations of your oral proficiency.
