New Students
Welcome! Grossmont College is a great place to help you meet
your educational goals. If you haven't done it already, there are 4 things
you need to do to become a student at Grossmont College.
-
File an application
online
or in the Admissions and Records Office.
If you have already applied to Grossmont College, go to Step 2.
- Attend an Orientation/Assessment session. Anyone who is planning
to take an English, English as a Second Language, or Mathematics
course needs to take the Assessment Test . One
key to achieving success in college is to take courses that are at your
skill level -- neither so easy that you become bored nor so difficult that
you become discouraged or receive a poor grade.
- Attend a New Student Advising
Session. A counselor will assist in selecting courses based on
an educational goal. All new students are strongly encouraged to take an
English course their first semester in college. If you have completed the Orientation, Assessment and
Advisement session and still have questions, you are welcome to utilize
Walk-In Counseling.
- Register for your classes. After you apply, a registration appointment
time will be mailed to you. You may register for classes by telephone
using College Connection (619) 668-4040 or over the web by using
WebConnect/WebAdvisor. You may register for classes at the time of your
appointment or anytime after that date. If you would like a counselor to
review your course selections, please visit the
Scheduling Advisement page.
