Spring 2010 Scholarship Application deadline has passed Fall 2010 applications will be available in March 1, 2010.

Grossmont College Foundation Scholarship

$1,500.00

Completion a minimum of 12 units; enrolled in 12 units; minimum GPA 3.5; applicants must have a record of service to the school.

James Rodey Young Creative Writers Scholarship

$1,000.00

Completion of a minimum of 12 units; enrolled in 12 units; minimum GPA 3.0; pursuing a career in creative writing.

San Diego Foundation Dietschman Fund

$750.00

Current enrollment in at least 12 units. Completion of 12 units; majoring in the health care field; financial need.

Todd Longstreth Photographic Arts Scholarship

$750.00

Enrollment in Photo II, III or advanced photo class; GPA 3.0; submission of 2 unmounted 8x10 photos process and printed by applicant.

Albert and June Van Zanten Memorial Scholarship

$500.00

Awarded in memory of a former Grossmont Trustee of the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District and former Mayor of El Cajon to assist former foster youth students with tuition books and other living expenses and who have financial need and a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

Barbara Chernofsky Scholarship in Child Development

$500.00

Students must be graduating in Spring with a degree in child development; minimum GPA 3.0.

Barnes and Noble Textbook Award

$500.00 (7)

Seven awards will be as follows:  3 awards to students majoring in General Business; 2 awards to Entering Freshmen students (enrolled in the first or second semester of college); 2 awards to students who are Intercollegiate Team members; all students must be enrolled full time; minimum GPA 2.5.

9 Carolyn Panak Shushan Memorial Scholarship

$500.00 (2)

Currently enrolled in the OTA Program as a second year student and have a current grade point average of at least 3.0.

Christy Seiler Davis Memorial Scholarship

$500.00

Re-Entry Student, Age 35 and older.

11 Dayna Ivy Peoples Memorial Scholarship

$500.00

Re-Entry student who can demonstrate financial need. Completion of 12 units with a GPA of at least 3.0

Grossmont College Excellence in Dance Scholarship

$500.00

Completion of 24 units; Full-time student; minimum GPA 3.0 in dance classes and a cumulative GPA of 2.8 in all other college work; applicant must be pursuing a major or minor in dance and have demonstrated a commitment to dance; must be enrolled in a Dance Theatre

Jack Wilton Scholarship in Biology

$500.00

Completion of a minimum of 12 units; at least 10 units must be in Biology; minimum GPA 3.0; demonstration of service to the community

14 San Diego East Visitors Bureau Scholarship 

$500.00

Offered by the San Diego Visitors Bureau to a student enrolled in the Tourism Hospitality education track at Grossmont College. Completion of 24 units and enrolled in 12 units with minimum GPA 3.0.
15 The Ruane Family Trust Scholarship

$500.00

Completion of 12 units, enrolled in 12 units; GPA of at least 3.0. Applicant must be pursuing a major in criminal justice. Applicant must demonstrate financial need.
16 Lee Roper Memorial Scholarship

$300.00

Re-Entry Student who has completed at least 12 units and is majoring in a Social Science subject.
17 Grossmont College Financial Aid Office Continuing Student Scholarship

$250.00

Applicant must have at least completed one semester at Grossmont College with a GPA of 2.75 with financial need.

Grossmont College International Student Scholarship

$250.00

Applicants must be F1 Visa; completion of 24 units at Grossmont College; pursuing an AA degree; minimum GPA 3.0.

Jack Mashin Athletic Scholarship

$250.00 (2)

Currently enrolled in at least 12 units; minimum GPA 2.0.  Applicant must participate in intercollegiate sports at Grossmont College and exhibited leadership. 

20

Katherine Faulconer Scholarship in Theatre Arts

$250.00

Completion of minimum of 24 units; enrolled in 12 units; minimum GPA 3.0; declared Theatre Arts major.

21 Dorothy O. Harrell Memorial Scholarship

 

$200.00

 

Re-Entry student planning to transfer to a four year college with at least 24 units completed at Grossmont College; minimum GPA 3.0;  Preference given to full time students.

GKN AeroSpace Chem-Tronic Scholarship

$200.00

Continuing student majoring in Engineering Science or Math completion of 12 units; enrolled in 12 units; minimum GPA 3.0.

23 Grossmont College EOPS Scholarship $200.00 Sponsored by the Grossmont College EOPS department awarded to a student who is currently involved in any EOPS; CARE, CALWORKS, or HORIZONS.

ESL Scholarship

$200.00

Completion of a minimum of 12 units of ESL classes; currently enrolled in a minimum of 12 units; one ESL core curriculum class; minimum GPA 3.0.

Marjory Galbally Scholarship

$200

Applicant must be a full-time student who has completed a minimum of 12 units with financial need.

Dianne Westman Memorial Scholarship

$150.00

Applicant must be enrolled full-time; pursuing a career in marketing or retail management or business; minimum GPA 2.5.

Grossmont College DSPS Scholarship

$150.00

Current enrollment in 6 units; applicant must be physically, learning or communicatory disabled; financial need. If applicant is not receiving services from DSPS, applicant must submit record documenting the disability.

28

Henry Vanden Broek Nursing Scholarship

$100.00

Second year nursing student; financial need.

29

Jean Jones Scholarship

$100.00

Current enrollment in a GC Symphony or a musical performance class; completion of 6 units; minimum GPA 2.5; enrolled full time.

Student Veteran Organization Scholarship

$100

Open to Grossmont College students who are enrolled full-time and have completed at least 30 units with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicants must be an Honorable discharge Veteran with 4 years of active duty completed in the Armed Forces of the United States.
