Charges for Loans
Books
Most Interlibrary loan books are free from the
lending institution, and therefore free to students. However if a
student chooses to request a book that has charges attached to it, the
student will be notified in advance of the charges, and the book ordered
if the student will pay the charges. The least expensive lending
institution will, of course, be chosen.
Articles
Students are charged 15 cents per page and then any amount over $8.00
charged by the lending institution, with the student’s prior consent.
Examples:
An article with 3 pages and a $9 charge is
received. The student would pay 3x15 cents (45 cents) and the amount
($1) over $8: $1.45
An article with 30 pages and a $9 charge is
received. The student would pay 30x 15 cents ($4.50) and the amount
($1) over the $8: $5.50
Faculty, and other college personnel, are not
charged a per page fee, but may be required to pay the excess fee for
articles that are charged over $8.
Example:
An article with 3 pages and a $9 charge is
received. The faculty would pay the excess over $8, or $1.00
An article with 10 pages and a $3 charge is
received. The faculty would pay nothing.
The least expensive lending institution will, of
course, be chosen.
