Welcome to the Grossmont College Department of Music homepage! Our
faculty of local and nationally renowned performers, conductors,
composers, and teachers, serve over 60 undergraduate music majors,
in addition to serving the campus wide student body of approximately
18,000 students.
The 2008-2009 academic year continues our tenure as
Co-Chairs of the Department of Music at Grossmont College. And
as the
current Music Department Co-Chairs, we would like to welcome you to what
we believe to be a most exciting music program. Offering over one
hundred performances per year, from classical orchestral, to vocal
jazz, to guitar performances in classical, jazz, and new age, the
Grossmont College Music Department provides San Diego's East County
with an abundance of opportunities for cultural enrichment. At the
same time, the entering music major will find a fully comprehensive
program to prepare them not just to transfer to a four-year
institution, but to prepare them to enter the professional musical
community. If your interests are devoted to fostering a greater
interest in understanding music for pleasure, the music department
offers a wealth of courses to stimulate and serve.
