- Researched a wide range of reference questions for diversified and multicultural patrons
in public, community college, and corporate library settings, by phone and in person
- Retrieved information from online research tools such as the Internet, Searchbank, and
WilsonWeb, as well as from CD-ROM products such as SIRS, ProQuest, and CINAHL
- Trained adjunct librarians and paraprofessional reference navigators on reference tools,
techniques, policies, and procedures
- Located and obtained books, journals, and audio-visual materials as requested. When
material not on-site, networked, referred, and/or borrowed it through interlibrary loan
- Developed, weeded, and inventoried collections in all subject areas, with specific

Instruction
- Conducted library tours and specialized orientations, both in-classroom
and on-site, using overheads, videos, slides, a computer projector, and/or
PowerPoint slides. Used Microsoft Publisher to create handouts
- Created and presented both general library orientations, and orientations tailored to

Electronic Services
- Functioned as Internet Coordinator for Oceanside Public Library: teaching classes to
staff and the community, developing policies and procedures, and creating lists of useful
websites
- Updated the Oceanside Public Library and Grossmont College Library homepages using raw
HTML and also Microsoft Frontpage
- Drafted, and was awarded, five Internet grants from the California State Library
