General Anesthesia Technician Information
Anesthesia Technician
Anesthesia Technicians work in
the operating room under the supervision of an RN
anesthesiologist. They maintain supplies and
equipment and assist the anesthesiologist with
patient care during surgery.
Anesthesia Technician Counseling Information
- Students should enjoy working with people
indoors in a healthcare setting
- An aptitude for science, math and technology
is highly recommended.
- Intermediate to Advanced Biology coursework
and/or an anatomy and physiology course will
help the student be successful in the program.
- Students should have good problem solving
abilities, and be able to handle stressful
situations.
- Students will be required to participate in
an internship as part of this course, conform to
dress codes and other standards required by the
training site management.
- Students should have good physical health
and be able to work 8 - 12 hour shift with
prolonged period of standing/walking, and be
able to life 50lbs.
- Students will need to purchase texts.
Students must have a current American Heart
Association Adult, Child, and Infant Basic Life
Support CPR card for participation in the
program.
- Students must show proof of a high school
diploma or GED.
- Students must be 18 years of age or older.
