Emergency Dispatching is a unique and exciting career choice, which promises both challenges and rewards for motivated individuals. Emergency Dispatchers perform a myriad of duties for agencies in various public safety fields, including Law Enforcement, Fire, Medical, Humane and Civil services.

The ROP Emergency Dispatcher course offered through Grossmont College ROP is designed to provide students with a basic working knowledge of virtually all aspects relative to Emergency Communications. An additional benefit is the course has been certified by the State of California Peace Officers Standards Training (POST), a governmental regulatory organization, which determines and monitors the level and scope of training required for personnel serving in law enforcement agencies throughout the state. This certification is required for dispatchers who choose to work in law enforcement agencies within California.

Fall 2008 online registration begins at 9 a.m.
Tuesday, July 8, 2008 thru Friday, August 8, 2008

Students must have no felony convictions, and must be 18 at time of course completion. Some misdemeanor convictions, previous drug use, or history of mental illness may severely restrict employability.

Before proceeding to registration, read all of the above information. There may be a prerequisite or required documentation i.e. proof of High School diploma, age verification, etc...
