  1. What is ROP?

    ROP is a career and technical education program that offers career and technical skills training for entry level, upgrading existing skills, or preparing for advanced training. It is state funded through the San Diego County Department of Education. ROP is tuition free and is also available for college credit (FEES APPLY).

    ROP OFFERS:

    • Access to Grossmont-Cuyamaca College District Services and Facilities



     

  2. Who Qualifies for ROP?
    ROP Courses are offered tuition-free to anyone, 16 years or older, regardless of race, religion, sex, national origin, handicap or income level. There is no qualifying necessary. You can enroll in the ROP to: learn entry level job skills, upgrade existing skills, prepare for advanced training, or train for a new career.

     
  3. Are There Jobs Available?
    Job placement instruction is provided in each program, and ROP students have access to the Job Placement Office and the Career Planning Center on campus.

  5. Is ROP Training Up To Date?
    Employers serve on advisory committees annually to help verify that ROP training meets business and industry needs and standards. Instructors hold valid teaching credentials and have years of experience in their speciality.

     
  6. Will I Receive a Certificate?
    ROP will issue a "Certificate of Completion" to each student who successfully meets the minimum program standards. Those students enrolled for college credit will need to refer to the college catalog for more specific information regarding college degree or certificate.
