Discuss your transfer plans with a counselor;
develop an educational plan and read reference books and
catalogs of four-year colleges and universities available in the Transfer
Center.
Read transfer publications available in the Counseling Center.
Visit the
Assist website (www.assist.org) for a look at the official repository of transfer
information or the websites of your selected four-year colleges and universities for
transfer information to supplement information available in the Transfer
Center.
Find out about transfer requirements and deadlines from the website or
catalog of your college choice.
Plan your general education transfer program carefully; ask about general
education certification and the transferability of your courses.
Look at the media resources available in the Transfer Center.
Visit the four-year institutions of your choice.
Make an appointment with a department
advisor or academic advisor at your chosen transfer institution to talk
about your major and plan your course of study. Make sure you take
copies of your college transcripts and the Grossmont College Catalog.
Complete and send the required financial aid and scholarship applications
along with any additional required documents early. See the Financial Aid
Office for deadlines and forms.
Obtain an admission application booklet (with dates, deadlines, and fees)
from Grossmont's Counseling Center or from your transfer institution.
Complete and send the application for admission with the application fee or
fee waiver form prior to deadlines (check due dates).
Complete and send the application for on-campus housing with any required
fee when appropriate.
Continue your recommended course work at Grossmont--Complete coursework in
General Education and in preparation for your major.
Request that Grossmont's Evaluations Office in Admissions and Records
certify your transfer units for CSU GE Breadth or IGETC, when you receive
your acceptance notice from the four-year college or university.
Have official transcripts from all the college's you've attended mailed to
the appropriate transfer institution (including high school transcripts).
