UniversityLink is here for you. UniversityLink offers you the opportunity to
transfer to UCSD, one of the top-ranked state-supported universities in the
country.
What is UniversityLink?
- A partnership between UCSD, Grossmont College, and the Grossmont Union
High School District.
- A program that helps you meet your goal of enrolling at UCSD.
- A program offering you services, including individual counseling and
activities, to facilitate a timely and smooth transfer from high school to
Grossmont College to UCSD.
- A program designed to increase the college-going and transfer rates of
students living in San Diego's East County.
A primary goal of UniversityLink is to encourage you to complete your
first two years of academic coursework at Grossmont College.
Your college success is our mission. Counselors from Grossmont College and
UCSD will work with you to ensure that you take the right steps toward
transferring to UCSD.
UniversityLink offers you these services:
- Orientation to the Grossmont College and UCSD experience
- Assessment of your academic skills
- One-to-one academic counseling
- Workshops for college and transfer success
- Financial aid information
- Advising from a UCSD Admissions Counselor
- Advising on General Education and Major Preparation course

- A UCSD campus tour and invitation to special events
- Contact with current UCSD students
- UCSD campus activities, including overnight visitation opportunities.
Eligibility:
Your UniversityLink agreement must be submitted to UCSD during the spring
of your senior year of high school or during the fall term at Grossmont
College.*
Successful completion of the UniversityLink agreement guarantees you
admission to a fall term at UCSD.
* To enroll in UniversityLink you must register at Grossmont College by
first completing an application for admission.
Requirements:
Academic:
- Earn 60 transferable semester units (30 of the last 40 UC-transferable
units must be completed at a California community college)
- Maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.80 in all UC-transferable
courses.
- Meet UC subject eligibility:
- 2 transferable English Composition courses
- 1 transferable Mathematics course
- 4 transferable courses covering two of the following three disciplines:
arts and humanities; social and behavioral sciences; physical and
biological sciences
Program:
- 1 appointment per semester with a community college counselor
- 1 appointment per year with the UCSD representative for Grossmont
College
- Attend fall and spring semester UniversityLink program meetings at the
community college
- Enroll in a Grossmont College Success Skills course
- Attend a UC application workshop
- Participate in a UCSD campus visit.

Directions to UCSD:
From Interstate 5, take the La Jolla Village Drive exit and head west to our
Gilman Drive entrance. A Visitor Information Center marks the entrance. You
can purchase a parking permit, get a campus map, and receive directions from
attendants. Parking is free on the weekends!
Directions to Grossmont College:
From Highway 8 (east or west), exit Lake Murry Blvd. traveling North.
Continue North on Lake Murry for approximately 3 miles. Turn right on
Highwood, this will take you into the campus.
From Highway 52 traveling east, take the Highway 125 South exit. Highway 125
ends at Grossmont College Drive. Turn right at the signal. This will take
you into the campus.
From Highway 94 traveling east, exit Fletcher Parkway. Turn left onto
Fletcher Parkway and travel less than a mile. Now turn left onto Navajo Rd.
Move to the extreme right lane and turn right on Fanita. Turn left at
Grossmont College Drive. This will take you into the campus.
